Once a lonely little village on the road from Denpasar to Bukit Peninsula, Kuta is now the tourist Mecca of Bali, popular mainly among the young and adventurous. Kuta beach is one of the first favorite beaches discovered by tourist. Coconut trees line the sand beach as far as the eyes can see towards the north stopped by the runway of Denpasar’s airport far in the west. The sunset in Kuta is most breathtaking. Pulau Bora Bora terkenal sebagai pulau yang romantis. Bora Bora adalah bagian dari sekelompok pulau di Samudera Pasifik selatan yang disebut French Polynesia. Pulau utamanya memiliki luas wilayah 38 kilometer persegi. Di tengah-tengah pulau ini terdapat sisa-sisa gunung berapi dengan dua puncak yang telah ‘mati’. Iguaza Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misiones. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu.
Their name comes from the Guarani or Tupi words . Legend has it that a god planned to marry a beautiful aborigine named Naipí, who fled with her mortal lover Tarobá in a canoe. In rage, the god sliced the river creating the waterfalls, condemning the lovers to an eternal fall. The first European to find the falls was the Spanish Conquistador Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca in 1541, after whom one of the falls in the Argentine side is named. The falls were rediscovered by Boselli at the end of the nineteenth century, and one of the Argentine falls is named after him. Read the rest of this entry »
Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 2,430 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, which is 80 kilometres (50 miles) northwest of Cuzco and through which the Urubamba River flows.
